Herpes blisters appear in the primary stage of the disease. This stage usually begins about two to eight days after the infectious contact but may also start later. During this stage, the virus attacks the healthy cells. The infection will often cause the formation of one or more groups of small, painful blisters. The fluid in the blisters will be clear or cloudy and redness will form in the vesicles. These vesicles crack easily and become open sores. It is possible that you may not notice the blisters, as their length may vary. Check out some herpes blister pictures bellow:
In addition to blisters or painful sores around the genitals, urinating can be painful. Your glands may be swollen and you can make fever and experience flu-like symptoms. In the presence of blisters or lesions, herpes can spread very easily. Although the infection is painful for most people during the primary stage, some have no symptoms and may be unaware they are infected. Blisters disappear in the latent stage. During this stage, there are no blisters, injuries or other symptoms. The virus spreads from the skin to the nerves near your spine, where it remains inactive until something triggers the attack leads to new healthy cells and cause other symptoms. In many people, the blisters and lesions recur after the first outbreak of herpes. This is called a recurrence. Usually, the symptoms are not as intense as during the first episode. Stress, illness or fatigue may trigger a recurrence. The sun or menstruation may also cause a recurrence. Itching, tingling or pain in places where you have been infected may mean the approach of a recurrence. During recurrences, you can spread the herpes virus. |
